Still Corners continue to mine the territory between dream pop and noir-tinged Americana on "The Trip." It's a slow burner that opens with a reverb-soaked guitar figure and Tessa Murray's characteristically distant vocal before building into something more expansive.
The production, as always, is immaculate — all negative space and atmosphere. There's a cinematic quality to the arrangement that suggests wide open roads and desert sunsets, even as the lyrics hint at something darker beneath the surface.
